"Happy families are all alike; every unhappy family is unhappy in its own way." - opening line from Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy

Welcome to the coming-together of an entire course summarized into what has most affected me in my daily life as a cog in the family wheel. To my understanding the quote poses a few questions. Why are happy families all alike? What makes unhappy families different from one another?

In an attempt to answer these questions, I will use what I have learned as a key source. In the following pages the reader will find opinions I have formed based on these ideas. As such, the understanding that I have for the material may not agree entirely with what you may believe but hopefully will give you some thing to chew on, so-to-speak.
